(formerly adventure planning)
In the past, each year I would mark down hikes I wanted to do that season. More often than not, some of the hikes got skipped over for one reason or another and they would end up on the next year's list. I realized that a simple hiking wish list would probably be more appropriate and easier to maintain. If you see a trip you'd be interested in hiking with me, leave a comment or send me a message through my contact form and we'll try to work something out.
An attempt has been made to keep this list in alphabetical order and I've tried to include one or more links with information on the hike listed. Hikes with strikethrough have already been completed. Click the strikethrough title for my report.

Steens Mountain(No report yet)- Tatoosh Ridge - Directions to trailheads via this Summitpost article. The easiest route to the summit is via the Tatoosh Trail (#161) from either end. The hike in appears to be equally distant from either trailhead (~10mi RT); the northern one is arguably more scenic of the two but also may be more difficult to get to per rough gravel washed out roads.Check with the local ranger station on conditions before driving here -- the road was very rough in July 2007 and likely not passable to most passenger cars. North Approach: From Hwy 12 at the east end of town, turn off onto Skate Creek Rd (Rd 52). Cross the Cowlitz River in 0.5mi and continue for 3.5mi to turn off north/right on FR 5270 (gravel). Follow for 5.8mi to a junction and continue straight on 5270 for another 1.5mi to the trailhead. South Approach: Same as above although on crossing the Cowlitz River, turn right onto Cannon Rd. Continue upriver (the road becomes FR 5290 shortly) for 9mi. On arriving at an intersection, turn right and continue on 5290 for another 1.2mi to the trailhead.

Thanks for the link! You’ve got some very interesting sites bookmarked here.
Thanks Teresa. I just noticed some of the links were broken. I tried to fix them just now. We still use IE7 here at work, so sometimes the editor doesn’t format the text properly.
Great list – though I must say that many of the hikes you still have to do are unknown to me. I.e. I have never even heard of them!
Thanks Peder. I admit, some of these are kind of unknowns. There are many more that I am sure are worthy. These just caught my attention for one reason or another.
Just discovered your blog and am having a look around. I LOVE your wish list here! I know how much I enjoy hitting things on my wish list and it is fun to see what someone else is dreaming of. I look forward to reading some of your posts. Cheers!
Wow, thanks Lusha! I just took a look at your website, http://www.evansoutdooradventures.com and I am impressed with some of the things you have on there. Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. Very cool – and you guys have hit a few I’ve done, Ancient Lake, White Bluffs, Rainier Trails, a bunch of the Oregon Gorge waterfalls, and you’ve also done some that I want to do – Elkhorn, Imnaha River, Maple Heather Pass Loop. Wow! Nice website. I might just set up a link to it I enjoy it so much. Thanks for visiting and I hope you are inspired to try one of the trails I mention on the wish-list.
