I was on a mission to hike Mt Townsend this weekend. I started driving that way but it was raining really hard when I got near that area. I changed plans at the last minute and drove south on 101 all the way down the Hood Canal and headed up towards Lake Cushman. The weather was much better down this way so I decided to just do a little hike at Staircase. The old bridge on the Staircase Loop hike had washed out several years ago and they recently (within the last couple years) replaced it with a much nicer suspension bridge. I figured this was as good a time as any to check it out. Below are the pictures from that short little hike.

Years ago I drove Highway 2 over Stevens from Everett/Monroe to Leavenworth and stopped off along the highway to a short walk to a short suspension bridge over a river. Looking down at the clear deep green water I noticed the entire waterway was full of salmon. Any idea where that bridge is? Seemed like there was a body of water that collected under this bridge, fed by a river above to the East and running out to the West. I was only dating my wife at the time, and not 32 years later I would love to take her back there. If you can think of it, I would love to know where is it.
Really not sure to be honest. My guess would be somewhere on the Skykomish River. There is the Baring Suspension Bridge near Baring and Hwy 2 but it is a car bridge. It looks like they are getting ready to replace it. You can find more info and see pictures of it here https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/local-services/transit-transportation-roads/roads-and-bridges/projects-and-programs/baring-bridge
