Dawn’s Disney Birthday

2011-02-20 Dawns Disney Birthday-067

For Dawn’s 40th birthday she wanted to go to Disneyland. Disneyland is her favorite place on Earth and I couldn’t tell her no (not that she would take no for answer anyhow). We spent nearly a week in Anaheim visiting with the Mouse and friends. Dawn has a lot of friends and family that love her. Her friend Jen and her family came along, as did her friend Jill. Her mother was there and her aunt Cheryl, Uncle Tom and cousin Lynette. Oh, and her sister Kim and niece Cassidy (AKA spiderman) were also there.

There are a ton of pictures to see. Click the read more button to see them all.

Australia

When visiting Australia, we took a road trip along the Great Ocean Road. Little did I know we would be driving by Bells Beach. I had to have my photo taken by the sign. Bells Beach is where Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) gets arrested and released into the surf of the 50 year storm by Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) at the end of Point Break, my favorite movie

Manzanillo Mexico Vacation

A trip we took to Manzanillo Mexico. We stayed at the Karmina Palace. Excellent trip. On the flight home, there was plane trouble and shortly after take-off the plane turned around and landed. The airline couldn’t get the plane fixed so they put us up for the night in the Las Hadas, the location of the filming of the movie “10″ with Dudley Moore and Bo Derek. I really enjoyed our time at the Karmina Palace and Manzanillo and would love to go back some day.

New York and Connecticut Trip

Dawn’s friend Stacy was re-listing in the navy and invited us to attend the ceremony. They lived in Connecticut at the time In Groton. We flew out there and stayed with him and their family and got up and drove in to New York for the ceremony. He re-enlisted at the top of the Statue of Liberty. It was really cold when we were there with a negative 4 degree wind chill. I’m not sure I’ve ever been in such cold weather before. In some of the pictures, you can see the pre 911 Twin Towers. Pictures are of New York City and Mystic Connecticut.
