I heard the Griff Creek Trail was snow free so I headed that way this weekend. While the Griff Creek Trail doesn’t actually follow along Griff Creek, it does follow along the ridge next to it. The officially maintained trail ends at the 3300′ elevation mark but an unofficial trail continues on to a prominent little point labeled 3645 on the map. The trail starts directly behind the Elwha Ranger Station in the Olympic National Park. See map below for route information.

Downed tree just after Rock View Point. The trail was pristine up to this point. After this, there were several downed trees all the way to the end.

End of the official trail. We continued on to the the little rock outcropping at the 3645′ elevation level. There is an unmaintained section from here to the top. See map below.
