This was my first year to ride in the Peninsula Wilderness Club Pub Pedal in Seattle. It was a great time and I hope to do it again next year. We were expecting rain for much of the day but we were lucky that it didn’t start until we reached our first pub. It rained on us pretty hard between our first pub, the Old Town Ale House and second pub Hale’s Ales but the sun came out after and it turned out to be a beautiful day. We made it all the way to the U-District’s Big Time Brewery and Alehouse before calling it a day and heading back. One of the highlights of the day for me was lunch at the Old Town Ale House. I had the special of the day which was a soup and sandwich that was to die for. The other great part of the day was riding the bike trail. I really got to see a side of Seattle I had not seen before. It was a most excellent day, with some good friends!

We stopped at this lovely little rose garden along the bike path on the waterfront for a picture. From left to right: Becky, Linda, Kristy, Paul, Pam, Joe, Kathy, Nancy, Jackie and Steve.

The Space needle is painted in it’s original orange to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Seattle Worlds Fair. These roses seemed to be celebrating as well.

This was a postcard they had at the Ale House. We considered mailing it to someone that was supposed to attend the pub pedal but I believe we became too preoccupied with drinking beer to bother with it.

Getting ready for the ride to our next pub. The rain that started when we arrived at the Old Town Ale House had subsided for now but the break didn’t last long.

We made our way to the Troll under the bridge in Fremont. My group picture didn’t turn out but I was able to get a shot of the Troll by itself.

There was a group of guys with Nerf guns at Gas Works. Not sure what they were doing exactly but we dubbed them “Nerds with Nerfs”

Climbing the stairs to the top of the Fremont Bridge. I took a 3 block detour and avoided the climb.

Steve, Paul and Pam waiting for us slew-pokes to catch up. This was near the BNSF Rail Yard in Seattle

As you can see, the stormy weather we experienced earlier in the day cleared and we enjoyed glorious blue skies!

By this time, the others continued on to their last stop of the day at Fado’s but I opted to catch the ferry home. This was a great outing and I hope to participate again next year!
